Xingyi 12 Animals

Since I brought it up today...

Neat. Several of those movements are in the competition form. Actually, this looks like a tao of some sort like the 5 element tao learned before the competition form. He seems to be drilling the more advanced movements within the competition form; I Guess those movements are somewhat animal based. Pretty cool to see the influence...

Yeah Eryn, our competition form is a combination of the 5 elements and 12 animals of xingyi from the Hebei branch. This clip, which I first saw maybe 5 or 6 yrs ago, is not Hebei, but many of the basic movement are similar. I forget which branch this is offhand, but the old man is absolutely bad-ass. And yes what he is doing would be from the 12 animals.

Acually, I looked it up quickly and this is Shanxi Xingyi.
